Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Enjoyed dinner with family to celebrate Father’s Day in advance. Good decision to have made a reservation as the place was packed as it usually is during weekends. The service and quality of the buffet remain consistent. Favorites would be the paella negra and sardines. The garlic soup was great but feel a bit guilty afterwards with how oily it was. Overall a good experience and would definitely be back again."
"Their spread is respectable, very wide selection. But I've seen cheaper that offer a wider selection, but I guess the focus is on quality over quantity which they've nailed so far. It's a bit nitpicking but I suppose I would've expected a bit more for 1,000+ per head, nevertheless the food was really good, prepared really well especially the Paellas."
"On our recent visit to Manila, my husband and I happily wandered into this gem of a Spanish restaurant, serving all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner. What can be better than that? Starving for a really good Spanish restaurant where we're from in the US, this was really an exciting find. We saw the post outside the restaurant and realized we were 1.5 hours away from the dinner service so we gladly whiled away time and returned promptly. Amazing. This all-you-can-eat featured soup, appetizers, main course choices, and dessert. The spread (see photos!) was not light on variety (Jamon Serrano!) and the heavy hitters--two kinds of Paella (seafood Valenciana and Paella con Tuhod y Batoc), Roast Pork Belly (liver sauce on the side), Lengua, Callos, Coca Embutido...I mean, the works! They have an ample selection of wine as well to match the delicious food. There's entertainment that makes the experience even more pleasant. This place was busy for a Thursday evening. When we left, more groups were coming in. Oh, and the best part is the price. Affordable. I mean, I wish we had something like there where we lived. Service was friendly and courteous. Run to this place when you get tired of eating Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Filipino fusion food. I can't wait to go back. Meanwhile, I've been telling everyone who lives in Manila, about it."
"Really enjoyed it here, food selections are unique. Really liked the cold cuts and the sausages. Looking at the other comments i think its unfair to compare them to vikings since theyre not operating in the same scale so its expected price here is a bit higher. Overall quality is good and food selection is not something i usually see"
"I noticed that the food selection was not as expansive as before, based on other reviews. Nonetheless, the taste was okay. My favorites were the fruit salad and paella negra. I love the ambiance, it felt cozy! The live performers were impressive as they can sing in English, Filipino and Spanish. They also take song recommendations!"
"Everything we ordered was good but the standout dishes for me were the paella with sisig & cochinillo and the deep fried squid tentacles! I can't even remember the last time I ate here but ever since I left Manila, I haven't been back but definitely happy we ate here during this visit."
"Had lunch at Alba Restaurante Español and overall it was a solid experience. We were first served complimentary bread with butter and it was surprisingly good but Texas for sure is better. Warm, soft, and a great way to start the meal. For tapas, we ordered Calamares al Ajillo and Croquetas de Jamon. The calamares was easily one of the best I’ve had. Tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. Definitely a must order. The croquetas were okay but nothing too special. There are better options on the menu if you’re choosing just one tapa. For mains, we had the Paella Valenciana. While it’s not the best paella I’ve ever tasted, it was still good and satisfying. Pairing it with the calamares actually made the combination perfect. The only downside was the noise level. There was a large group having lunch and another gathering inside the hall, so it got quite loud during our visit. Overall, great Spanish food at a reasonable price. Tip: Arrive early and go for the buffet. It’s only ₱1,200 per head and gives you more options to try."
"We arrived after buffet lunch hours, went a la carte. Coming back to one of the “classic restos” in Metro Manila is always a treat. It’s our 2nd time in this location and we left again with happy bellies The Sopa De Maricos is on point, we wished it’s bottomless like those soups at Olive Garden. Got the usual, Gambas al Ajillo, Callos a la Madrileña, Salpicado de Solomillo, all did not disappoint. No Paella this time because we only have 1 hour for late brunch. Callos tasted almost like the way my lola cooked it when i was younger. The complimentary bread is soft & tasty. Except for the double entry error on one of the drinks (ordered 1, billed 2), the service was almost perfect. Very friendly & responsive staff. We’ll try the Tomas Morato buffet lunch next time"
